Our Process

Holding ourselves to a high standard of transparency in how we create our innovative skincare formulations means a lot to us. So, here's our process.

Step 1: Research!

"Research is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought." Albert Szent-Gyorgyi said it, and we listened! We research every ingredient and supplier thoroughly so that we only choose the most ethical and responsible suppliers, who help us source ingredients that are not only vegan and cruelty-free but also comply with all applicable local and international regulations.

This is an arduous task but we truly believe quality ingredients matter.

Step 2: Ideation

By choosing only the best ingredients by function we are mindful of we what don't want in our formulations as much as what we do want, and we will forever refuse to include nasties or any ingredients of concern. We leave out parabens, retinyl palmitate, formaldehyde, and formaldehyde-releasing agents, coal tar, oxybenzone, denatured alcohol, essential oils, silicones, polyethylene glycol, sulphates, phthalates and triclosan, animal derivatives, petrochemicals, EDTA, petrolatum, mineral oils, gluten, GMO's, artificial colours, artificial fragrances and we say no to over 2,700 ingredients of concern. You can find our full list of ingredients for each of our products.

Once we have the desired formula, we further double-check (and triple-check) all the MSDS for ingredients to make sure they are meeting our strict ingredients selection criteria.

Our crack formulation team begins the trial formulation process right here in sunny Australia in a GMP accredited facility. It takes numerous trials and errors before we finalise the formulation. It takes several months of dedicated work to conduct trials to determine the effectiveness of the product. At this stage, we also conduct formulation testing (not limited to appearance, pH, density, and viscosity).

Samples are tested and revised until we get the desired results. The formulations must be efficacious, lightweight, and fast-absorbing so they can be a part of your daily regimen.

Now that we have a formula that meets our highest standards, we then test it. We never test on animals - we test it on ourselves because what's not good enough for us, can never be good enough for you.

The next key part is sourcing the most suitable product packaging that aligns with our 100% recyclable goals.

Samples are tested for product packaging compatibility. This is where we also conduct various tests such as Microbial, PET, and Full Stability Tests. We check every component obsessively to make sure we have created an all-round incredible product.

Our labelling compliance expert ensures we meet the necessary specifications and regulations.

Our super creative graphic designer designs the labels. We are confident that our Chestnut rose-inspired colours of pink and yellow will brighten up your day, we loved the colours so much we put them straight into our packaging!

To develop and launch a new product, we take the long road. That's why our new product launch can easily take over a year from concept to manufacturing!

Our cosmetic formulators manufacture a small batch for us to test, and test, and test some more (on ourselves!) before we even consider full-scale manufacturing. All our products are tested and manufactured in Australia in a GMP accredited facility to ensure high standards of manufacturing.

After successful trial manufacturing, we then scale up to full-scale manufacturing. We produce small batch sizes, so they are freshly delivered to you to ensure the botanicals are fresh and active.

In the filling facility, the products are filled in glass bottles and further packed into certified FSC board unit cartons.

Once packaged, the products are ready to be sent.
